ITB GSGS Graduation Ceremony for April Academic Year 2023/2024 with ITS and Andalas University

Bandung, gsgs-ina.itb.ac.id – The Global Sanitation Graduate School (GSGS) of Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) once again organised a graduation ceremony for GSGS students who had gone through the judicial trial. 

The GSGS Graduation Ceremony for April Academic Year (AY) 2023/2024 was held on Friday, 26 April 2024 in hybrid format. Graduates and ITB lecturers attended in person at Co-Working Space Labtek 1B, ITB Jatinangor Campus. Meanwhile, graduates and lecturers of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) and Andalas University (UNAND) attended the graduation ceremony online via zoom. 

This time, there were 4 (four) GSGS ITB students who graduated. There was also one graduate from ITS, and three graduates from UNAND. 

GSGS ITB as the organiser of the April 2024 GSGS Graduation. Also invited the GSGS representatives from IHE Delft, Netherlands, namely Prof. Damir Brdjanovic and Dr. Shirisih Singh. However, on the day of the ceremony, both were unable to attend. 

The ceremony began with remarks from the Head of the Master of Water and Sanitation Infrastructure Management (PIAS) ITB Study Programme, Ir. Ahmad Soleh Setiyawan, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. In his remarks, he said that in total, GSGS Indonesia had graduated 52 people, with a percentage of female graduates as much as 65%. 

Since 2019, PIAS ITB has collaborated with GSGS to organise a master’s programme in water and sanitation. The collaboration includes the provision of tuition scholarships for students; student research fees; costs of supporting programmes such as summer courses and study tours; costs of developing learning modules; and others. 

It has become a tradition in every GSSG graduation for students to convey their impressions and messages regarding their study experience. Through the GSGS programme, students feel that they get a direct positive impact, such as tuition fee waivers and the opportunity to network with other students from abroad and within the country through study tours and summer courses. 

Dr. Anindrya Nastiti, S.T., M.T., as a representative of the GSGS lecturers, gave a message to all graduates. She congratulated and gave a message that what the graduates had received during college, hopefully could be a provision in the future to contribute to society, especially in the field of sanitation. 

It was then closed by giving plaques and certificates to all graduates who attended in person, followed by the documentation session for all the attendees.
