GSGS ITB Holds First Graduation Ceremony for Academic Year 2024/2025

Bandung, gsgs-ina.itb.ac.id – The 2024/2025 Academic Year (FY) started in August 2024. The Global Sanitation Graduate School (GSGS) of Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) held the October GSGS Graduation for the academic year 2024/2025. 

The October 2024 GSGS Graduation was held in a hybrid format on Friday (25/10/2024). Attendees followed the graduation procession offline at Co-Working Space Labtek 1B, ITB Jatinangor Campus. Some attendees were only able to follow the event through a zoom meeting. 

There were only four graduates from GSGS ITB who carried out the graduation process this time. This is different from the previous graduation ceremony, where GSGS ITB also invited graduates and lecturers from Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) and Universitas Andalas (UNAND). 

For this graduation, GSGS ITB as the organiser invited GSGS parties from IHE Delft, Netherlands, namely Prof. Damir Brdjanovic and Dr. Shirish Singh. However, both were unable to attend. 

As the opening remarks, the Head of the Master of Water and Sanitation Infrastructure Management (PIAS) ITB, Ir. Ahmad Soleh Setiyawan, S.T, M.T, Ph.D. gave a speech. He congratulated the graduates, and thanked Prof. Prayatni Soewondo for actively guiding the GSGS programme from the beginning. 

“I congratulate the graduates who have completed their studies. On this occasion, I would also like to thank Prof. Prayatni Soewondo who has been guiding the GSGS programme for the past five years,” he said. 

The procession continued with the delivery of impressions and messages during college by the graduates. One of the graduates expressed his gratitude to Ir. Ahmad Soleh Setiyawan, S.T, M.T, Ph.D., who is often addressed as Pak Aso, who has guided her with great patience during her thesis supervision.

As a representative of the GSGS ITB lecturers, Prof. Prayatni Soewondo gave a message to the graduates to continue to improve their capacity, especially improving their skills in English. 

The October 2024 Graduation Ceremony then ended with the presentation of certificates and plaques by Ir. Ahmad Soleh Setiyawan, S.T, M.T, Ph.D. and Prof. Prayatni Soewondo to two graduates who attended offline. After that, the event was closed with a group photo session for all attendees.
