GSGS Workshop – Achieving Sustainable Sanitation Through Sanitation Service Chain and Behavioural Approach

Global Sanitation Graduated School (GSGS), which is one of the programs of the Water Supply and Sanitation Infrastructure Management (WSSIM) Study Program of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering (FCEE), Institute of Technology Bandung held an event entitled GSGS Workshop: Achieving Sustainable Sanitation Through Sanitation Service Chain and Behavioral Approach. This event was held at the Seminar Room Labtek 1B Building, ITB, Jatinangor Campus on January 23-24, 2020.
The guest speaker was Imam Utomo, ST, who is an FSM Specialist for Indonesia Urban Water Sanitation and Hygiene (IUWASH). Prof. Dr. Ing. Prayatni Soewondo MS, and Dr. Dyah Wulandari, ST., MT., gave lecture on the first day related to Sanitation Systems and Service. On the second day, Dr. Ir. Tresna Dermawan Kunaefi and Dr. Anindrya Nastiti ST, MT gave lecture related to Behavior Change and Advocacy.
This event was attended by more than 50 participants from various cities in Indonesia and from various agencies. Some participants came from Lampung, Semarang (Central Java), Surabaya (East Java), and Bali. Not only academics were present but many of the participants were practitioners such as consultants and civil servants. It is hoped that this event will provide knowledge of the importance of sustainable sanitation and also a deeper understanding of human behavior so that it can make the sanitation program a priority in creating a healthier and more prosperous life.
